Bell deploys broadband wireless in Alberta
Bell Canada is deploying AirPair Flex products from DragonWave over its fixed wireless network in Alberta. Benefits of the IP services include interoperability of communications devices, simpler provisioning, and greater serviceability, according to a news release. “Bell Canada is deploying an innovative network solution to strengthen and expand our existing IP broadband network in Western Canada. DragonWave’s products give Bell the flexibility to deliver services to our customers when and where they need them,” Stephen Wetmore, group president, national markets for Bell, said.

Glentel inks distribution agreement for AMR system
Glentel Inc. has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hyundai Digital Technology (HDT), granting Glentel the exclusive rights to market and distribute HDT’s automatic meter reading (AMR) system. HDT’s AMR system is used in both the residential and commercial segments of the electricity, gas and water utility meter markets. "Today, the ability to effectively, efficiently and accurately read and manage utility meters is paramount. Consumers demand a confidence in their utility provider’s ability to consistently provide timely and accurate billings. The Hyundai solution meets this need," Glentel’s VP of operations for the wireless business division Dan Lowndes said in a news release.
