Photochannel pairs up with Katz
Retail multimedia vending device operator Photochannel Networks Inc. (PNI) has signed an agreement with Katz Group Canada Ltd. – operators of the Rexall, Pharma Plus, Guardian and IDA pharmacy chains in Canada, among others – that will see Katz use PNI’s Digital Media Platform to build an online photo service. Customers will be able to upload their digital photographs to the Rexall website and order prints for pick-up at any Rexall, Pharma Plus or Herbie’s location. The site can also be used to host images for sharing and archiving.

Telus can’t avoid criminal charges in Alberta
Alberta incumbent telephone operator Telus Corp. will face criminal charges over allegations the company ignored a court order to produce cell phone records requested by the RCMP. The company has now complied with the order and handed over the information, but it didn’t come until about five months after the RCMP initially made the request. Telus maintains that its failure to produce the information in a timely manner was the result of a misunderstanding and miscommunication.
