Private radio revenues decline in 2009

Statistics Canada released data Tuesday showing that private radio broadcasters appeared to be hit hard by the 2009 economic decline.

Pelmorex calls for industry-wide regulations on market power of integrated companies

The Weather Network owner Pelmorex Communications Inc. is calling on the CRTC to implement a series of new industry-wide policies to “safeguard” against excessive market power from vertically integrated communications companies that have more than a 25 per cent audience share.

Bell-Telus contract migration led to communications outages

The transfer of a roughly $200-million Defence Department contract from Bell Canada to Telus Corp. resulted in some technical failures in July 2008, The Canadian Press reported Tuesday.
