First signs of cord cutting are here, Boon Dog says

Canada’s publicly traded broadcast distribution companies reported “concrete signs” of cord cutting over the past two quarters as their combined subscriber base fell for the first time since cable TV first become a feature in most homes, said Mario Mota, partner at Boon Dog Professional Services Inc.

Private equity firms scoop up Public Mobile, aim for more deals

Two private equity firms, including one in New York and another with ties to Canada’s wealthiest family, acquired new entrant wireless carrier Public Mobile Inc. and intend to pursue other “consolidation opportunities” before registering for Industry Canada's upcoming 700 MHz spectrum auction, Public Mobile said.
