CWTA predicts ‘adversarial’ relationship if OPC power boosted

OTTAWA — Canada’s privacy commissioner should not be vested with order-making and fining power because doing so would harm the collaborative relationship his office has with wireless companies, the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) told Parliamentarians studying the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
