OTTAWA — Maxime Bernier, the leader of the People’s Party of Canada and former industry minister in the Harper government, says Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government should listen to Canada’s allies and ban Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. from Canada’s next generation networks.
The likelihood Canada will ban Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. equipment from the country’s 5G networks has gone up in recent months, and if that happens, the deployment of those networks will be delayed, National Bank analyst Adam Shine said in a research note.
