Telesat inks deal for high-speed modem chip for satellite broadband

Telesat Holdings Inc. announced a new agreement with satellite communications technology developer SatixFy Israel Ltd. Wednesday morning, as Telesat moves towards launching its Lightspeed satellite broadband service in Canada.

Court allows Iristel application for judicial review into wage subsidy denial to stand 

A federal court has dismissed the Canada Revenue Agency’s efforts to extinguish an application for judicial review from Iristel Inc. which claims the CRA improperly withheld more than $600,000 owed to it under the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) program.

ITPA asks CRTC to compel release of limited customer data for NG911

The Independent Telecommunications Providers Association (ITPA) is asking the CRTC to force  large telecom service providers to give the association a list of the wireless service numbers with billing addresses in geographic areas covered by the small incumbent local exchanges (SILECs) represented by the ITPA.

36-month financing plans violate Wireless Code: CRTC

The fees required for a customer to buy out of a 36-month mobile phone financing contract amount to a cancellation fee, and are therefore a violation of the Wireless Code, according to the CRTC.

Federal government refuses PIAC request to overturn CRTC paper bills decision
