AT&T Canada Inc has added a couple of prominent names to its staff. Mark Ethier, the new senior VP of business sales, joins the telco from Telus, where he was senior VP of sales. Emilio Taddio, most recently with Destia Communications and before that Fonorola, is the new senior VP wholesale. There's beenmuch movement in the Bell boardrooms these days. Pierre Blouin is the new president of Bell Mobility. He was most recently senior VP sourcing and logistics at Bell Canada. One-time Fonorola COO and CFO Marc Bouchard has been named president and CEO of Bell Nexxia while Randall J. Reynolds is now president of Bell Ontario. He previously served as president and CEO of BCE Mobile Communications Inc. John Boynton is the new VP sales and marketing, small business for Call-Net Enterprises. The 15-year telecom veteran will be heading the new strategic business unit for Call-Net which will market the services under its Sprint brand name. Aliant Inc has established a toehold in the American market and has chosen Daniel Doiron to run it. As president of Aliant's US Internet operations, the 16-year telecom vet will be based out of Bangor ME. Aliant plans to expand its services throughout New England. Jim McKillop has been named VP finance and CFO of Total Telecom Inc of Edmonton. McKillop formerly worked at Telus Inc.Teleglobe has opened an office in San Jose Costa Rica and has chosen Federico Gomez as sales manager. Gomez previously worked for MCI. The board of directors of Microcell Telecommunications has been joined by Bruno Ducharme, president and CEO of Telesystem International Wireless Inc; John W. Stanton, chairman and CEO of VoiceStream Wireless Corp and VoiceStream president and COO Robert Stapleton. Telesystem Ltd president Charles Sirois rejoins as chairman of the board after taking a leave of absence last summer. Antoine Blondeau, senior VP of marketing and sales for Zi Corp of Calgary, has been promoted to president and COO of Zi's software business. Peter Inman is the company's new CFO, replacing Rodney Mitton, who has retired. Lee Warren is the new business development VP of Wi-LAN Inc of Calgary. She was senior product manager and worked at Nortel before joining Wi-LAN. The company's chairman and CEO Hatim Zaghloul has joined the board of directors of Imaging Dynamics Corp of Calgary. John A. MacDonald, the president and CEO of Leitch Technology Corp and the former president and COO of Bell Canada, has been appointed to the board of FloNetwork Inc. The Industry Canada information service Strategis Headlines has a new editor. Kristina Fickes replaces Joanna Ignaszewska, who held the position for a year and a half.
