Paul Braconnier, president of Vicom Multimedia Inc, has been appointed to the company's board of directors. The board also accepted the resignation of Barry Chugg from the board, although he will continue as VP of the Edmonton-based company. Willy Wong has been promoted from VP to president/CEO of iFuture Inc, the Toronto company that owns and operates the AstroAdvice web site. Wong is a computer programmer and analyst with an enduring interest in classical Chinese and Western astrology. He was also part of the team that launched AstroAdvice.com in 1997. Wong has held senior positions in the past with MTW Solutions Online, Control Data, and Halley's Technologies Inc. Wong replaces outgoing president/CEO Ted Kotschorek. Vancouver-based Worldwide Broadcast Network (www.broadcast.net inc) has appointed Russell Braun, formerly GM at RealNetworks Inc, and Richard Roberts, president of Palazzo deMix Inc, to its advisory board. The company has also entered into an agreement with Palazzo to co-locate its U.S. corporate office at Palazzo's Seattle facility. A new Toronto-based networking group for web entrepreneurs, investors and service agencies has appointed its inaugural board of directors. KangaCom Inc, a Montreal-based company that specializes in providing e-commerce applications for the graphics arts industry, has made three executive appointments. Jocelyn Désy, who becomes VP, business development, has held various management positions with Bell Canada during his 21 years with the company. Most recently, he was assistant VP with Bell Canada. Alan Eugini has been appointed VP sales and marketing. Eugini has held management positions with Rogers Cantel and Teleglobe Canada, and worked with Bell Canada as a consultant on the KangaCom project. Terry MacKenzie has been named VP sales,Canada. In 1994, he worked as a VP at AlphaNet Telecom, and in 1998 joined the KangaCom project as a consultant. Pete Jones, former president at Apple Computer Inc (Canada) and SharedNetwork Services Corp, has been appointed president/CEO of Caught In the Web, a Toronto-based Internet company. In addition to overseeing daily operations, Jones will also handle the company's expansion into the U.S. MGI Software, Toronto, has appointed Sergeo Zyman to its board of directors. The fomer senior VP and chief marketing officer of the Coca-Cola Company will also serve as MGI's strategic marketing advisor, helping create effective marketing and communications strategies for the imaging sector.
