Brett Kondruk, most recently president and CEO of NRI On-line, has joined Calgary-based Cquay Inc as VP, special projects. Kondruk has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and management, including in applying GIS technology in the oil and gas industry. Medbroadcast Corp, Vancouver, has appointed Su Grimmer as acting VP, sales and marketing for the company effective immediately. Grimmer joins Medbroadcast Media with over 20 years of experience in the television, radio and communications industries, and was most recently a programming and new business development consultant to CanWest Global Communications Corp. Prior to that, she was acting senior VP for Atlantis Broadcasting Inc (now AllianceAtlantis Communications). Scott Donahey has joined the board of eResolution, a Montreal-based firm providing online dispute resolution. Donahey is an authority on alternative dispute resolution and Internet law, and a partner at Tomlinson Zisko Morosoli & Maser LLP. Eresolution is 30 per cent held by maritime telco Aliant Inc. Net Nanny Software International Inc, Vancouver, has hired Greg Danielson as its new CFO. Danielson has more than 28 years’ finance and operations experience, 14 years of that in the technology sector. He was most recently VP of finance and operations at Tidemark Computer Systems Inc, and prior to that, CFO of Pacific Housing Materials and Design. Planet411.com has created a new advisory board, and snagged Don Tapscott and Peter Martin to sit on it. Tapscott is a well known IT technology expert, and Martin is senior partner in the ecom, Internet and IT technology practice group of McCarthy Tetrault. The advisory board will work with the board of directors of Planet411.com, providing assistance, advice and strategic direction to the company. Suzanne Fortier, a former member of Communications Information Technology Ontario’s board of directors, has been named chair of Ontario’s newly formed Ontario Science and Innovation Council. Fortier has also served for a number of years as vice principal, research, at Queen’s University. Chris Davis is the latest executive hire at itemus inc, Toronto. He has been brought on as security director, working to ensure the network integrity of itemus member companies and clients. Davis is a self-identified "ethical hacker," and is credited with capturing the online credit card thief, "Curador." Internet heavyweight Jim Burns has been hired as CEO of the newly formed itemus Solutions, a new subsidiary of itemus Inc. The subsidiary is being created from the former Intrasoft Technologies Inc, which was acquired from co-founders Christine Pietschmann and Curtis Hollister. Pietschmann will work with Burns as president of the subsidiary, while Hollister will serve as vice-chair. Burns is a well-known senior manager who has held positions including COO and CIO of North America for Swiss Bank, COO and board member of SHL Systemhouse, CIO of Goldman Sachs and a partner at Andersen Consulting. He has also worked closely as a consultant with companies such as Netscape, Citibank and Bell Canada. Canadian New MEDIA will feature an article on itemus Solutions in the next issue.
