SUMmedia.com Inc has named Philip Kunsberg president of the Vancouver-based company as it moves to position itself as an application service provider in the wireless space. Kunsberg has been serving on the board of directors since January and will continue in that capacity. He brings a wealth of experience gained from his employ at Hollinger Digital, particularly in the areas of new media and in the development of new enterprises in the Internet economy. Kunsberg will be responsible for helping the company become a leading provider of Internet-based marketing solutions. John Krpan has been appointed VP operations at Cell-Loc Inc and its location services subsidiary TimesThree Inc, Calgary and Dallas. At TimesThree, Krpan will play an integral role in project management, global service operations and support. He joins Cell-Loc with more than 18 years experience in technology, business development and leadership from a wide variety of industries. Prior to joining the company, he was president at WestVista Advertising Services, a Texas-based print advertising company. Vancouver-based L3 Technology Inc has named Naiel Kanno as its president and CEO. He brings enormous experience to the table, specifically in developing and growing technology companies, and should be a valuable asset is growing the location-based services application developer. Kanno founded EXL Information Corp in 1988, a provider of billing and customer care software for telecommunications carriers, which he subsequently sold in 1998. Kanno is charged with taking the company to its next growth level by establishing partnership and alliances with developers and systems integrators. Peter Gill has been named CFO at the Prospectus Group Inc, Ottawa, replacing Pierre Vella Zarb who will remain on the board of directors. He has extensive experience in financing, administration, corporate development and joint ventures. His most recent post was director of finance and administration for Placer Dome Inc’s African and Eurasian exploration operations. While in the finance department at Placer Dome, he helped secure more than $1 billion in financing and lines of credit for the company. Wysdom Inc has appointed Brian Barry to its board of directors. The president and CEO at Ericsson Canada Inc should provide valuable leadership and advice to the growing wireless Internet infrastructure provider. He brings to the table more than 18 years experience in international telecommunications through various positions with Ericsson in Ireland, England and Canada. He has been with Ericsson Canada since 1997. The Quebec government has named Monique Lefebvre chair of the board for Société Innovatech du Grand Montréal for a second time. She was previously chair beginning in June 1998, and served as interim chair during the two previous years. She is well-known in the information technology and telecommunications industries and has been VP at Ericsson Canada Inc since 1998. Prior to joining Ericsson, she was president at Quebecor Multimedia Inc, and before that, she was president and CEO at Centre de recherche informatique de Montréal. EDispatch.com Wireless Data Inc has appointed Ken Blakeslee to the board of directors of its European subsidiary eDispatch.com Inc. The company plans to put forth a resolution nominating Blakeslee to the parent’s board as well. He is currently VP wireless Internet strategy at Nortel Networks Corp and is responsible for development, implementation and marketing of the company’s mobility and new media application offerings to the European mobile marketplace.
