Aliant Telecom resumes normal service
The arrival of 14,000 unexpected guests following the rerouting of overseas flights overloaded the telephone system in Atlantic Canada. Local ILEC Aliant Telecom reports service has now been restored to its previous levels. Bell Canada also noted that traffic on its network was up 40 per cent after the terrorist attacks in the United States. Manitoba Telecom was forced to put restrictions on some of its LD service.
