The Internet Advertising Bureau of Canada has appointed Gary Fearnall as president. Fearnall is VP of sales for Bell Globemedia Interactive.Peter Pereira has been appointed CIO/VP information services at Telus Corp. He was previously CIO/VP information technology at General Electric Capital Information Technology Solutions. He also has experience at SHL/MCI Systemhouse, Dell Computer Corp. and Glaxo Pharmaceuticals.Jeffrey White is the new CFO of iMagicTV. The three-year veteran of the company was previously director of finance and controller. He has worked for Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories and Deloitte & Touche. He succeeds Marjean Henderson, who has resigned from iMagicTV.The Ontario government has named a 19-member advisory panel to look at "smart growth" issues affecting the central part of the province. Bell Canada president John Sheridan is among the panelists. The region under study stretches from Niagara Falls to the Greater Toronto Area to Haliburton.Sam Billard has joined Ogilvy Renault as a partner at the firm's Toronto office and as a member of the business law group. Billard practices in the finance area with an emphasis on structured finance and commercial lending including structured leasing, securitization, project finance, film finance and syndicated lending.Vision TV has hired Suzanna Mandryk as VP of communications/marketing. In this role, she will oversee corporate communications and spearhead the company's overall branding and marketing initiatives. She has more than 15 years of senior marketing experience, including three years as VP of corporate marketing/communications for Corus Entertainment Inc. and YTV Canada.Jerry McIntosh has been appointed director of the newly integrated documentary unit at the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. The unit is responsible for commissioning independent productions for CBC Television and CBC Newsworld. Previously, McIntosh was executive producer of documentaries at CBC Newsworld. Marie Natanson will be the unit's deputy director.
