Canada’s wireless carriers are telling public safety groups and law enforcement agencies that commercial wireless networks could be used as vital communications links to support public protection disaster relief (PPDR) efforts. While the carrier community recognizes that there are some issues with ubiquitous coverage, industry representatives say there is a compelling case to be made for using commercial wireless networks for public safety.
