Sheila de La Varende has been named interim director of international operations at Telefilm Canada. She assumes the new position May 1, while continuing to oversee management of the agency’s European office in Paris. She takes over from Johanne St-Arnauld, who is leaving Telefilm to pursue other interests. La Varende has been running Telefilm Canada’s European office since October, 1995, and will now be in charge of the co-productions department, the international festivals and markets department, and the international office.
