Cell-Loc Inc.’s co-founder Michel Fattouche is stepping back as president and CEO and will take on CTO responsibilities. He will be replaced by Sheldon Reid, who has been executive VP corporate and business development. Sierra Wireless has shuffled its executive ranks. Glen Brownlee, president and COO, has announced his retirement. He will be replaced by current chair of the board of directors and CEO David Sutcliffe. Marek Dutkiewicz, VP of engineering, has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests, but will remain during a transition period. Steve Blaine, currently director GSM engineering, has been promoted to the VP of engineering post. Ottawa-based Spotwave Wireless has bolstered its U.S. sales group with several appointments. Dana Krug has been named as VP of North American sales, responsible for all sales in the region. He will be based in Chicago. Krug brings a solid mix of sales and business development experience to the table. As a co-founder of BrightPod, a wireless consulting and wireless enterprise applications company, Krug also demonstrates entrepreneurial drive. Prior to starting BrightPod, he spent 11 years with PageNet in various positions including Area VP of sales and GM. Most recently, Krug was VP of sales for Tradaq. U.S. sales team members are: Randy Borne, Atlanta; Mike DiCenzo, Boston; John Jacob, San Diego; and Kevin Soss, Chicago. Andrew Foti has been appointed partner in the Technology Practice Group of the Gowling Lafleur Hendersen LLP law firm, bringing more than 15 years of business and technology law experience. Prior to joining Gowlings, he was a partner and was responsible for coordinating the national technology team at law firm Ogilvy Renault. Former 724 Solutions executive Mina Wallace has joined INEA Corp. as its COO. She began her career at 724 Solutions as executive VP of field operations and ultimately became the company’s GM for North America. According to an INEA news release, she was instrumental in building 724 Solutions’ worldwide sales, service and alliance organization. Toshiba of Canada Ltd. has appointed Ralph Hyatt as GM of the Information Systems Group, the company’s mobile computer division. He brings more than 20 years experience in the computer industry to the position. Hyatt will oversee the introduction of new mobile computer products with integrated wireless communications capabilities. He also worked for the Canadian subsidiary of Compaq Computer and IBM Canada Inc. Norsat International Inc. has appointed Kenneth Crump to its board of directors. He is an experienced executive with a background in finance and operations, including 25 years in the telecommunications industry. Crump will serve as chair of the board’s audit committee. The board has also announced that it has elected Gaetano Manti chair of the board. Paradigm Advanced Technologies, Inc. has appointed Yair Gaon as chief strategy officer for its PowerLOC division. Nicholas Hippolyte has been appointed VP market development for the Asia Pacific region for Sigma Systems, responsible for all sales activities in the region. Hippolyte joins the company from Excite@Home, where he most recently served as senior director, software products. The CRTC has reappointed Stuart Langford and Andrée Noël to five-year terms effective November 2002.
