News | 09/16/2002 4:00 am EDT
WNI Networks Inc. has unloaded a portion of its 24 GHz A-band licence covering Edmonton and the surrounding region to a large Alberta-based oil producer. The licence, auctioned by Industry Canada in 1999 as block 3-44, has been split into two. New block 3-44-1 covers the Edmonton region excluding Bitumount/Fort Mackay; 3-44-2 covers Bitumount/Fort Mackay. WNI will retain 3-44-1, while Syncrude Canada Ltd. will take control of the smaller licence.
