Jean-Pierre Blais is leaving the CRTC as executive director, broadcasting to become assistant deputy minister, international and intergovernmental affairs at Canadian Heritage, effective December 2. International and intergovernmental affairs is one of five sectors in the department and is responsible for Sport Canada, Vancouver’s 2010 Olympic bid, trade and investment issues, and general international and intergovernmental affairs matters. Blais replaces Hélène Gosselin, who leaves Canadian Heritage to take over as deputy secretary, intergovernmental policy, intergovernmental affairs of the Privy Council.
