International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) executives Ron Clifton, president and CEO, and CFO Marc Santerre have agreed to sit on Storm Internet Services' strategic advisory board. IDC recently finalized the sale of Storm to 4177347 Canada Inc. See news brief in this issue for more information on the sale. Former Group Telecom executive Tal Bevan joined Allstream as executive VP of sales this month. Most recently, Bevan was president of business operations for Group Telecom/360networks, responsible for regional business operations. Prior to working at Group Telecom, he worked at WorldCom Canada in several capacities, including president where he was responsible for all aspects of the Canadian operations and VP of sales and marketing. With more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the fields of computer technology and communications, Bevan was also at Lucent Technologies, Octel messaging division for almost nine years where he held a variety of positions, including national director of Canadian sales and director of marketing. Jamie Crawford has joined Spotwave Wireless Inc. as director of Canadian sales. He brings more than 20 years experience to this position having worked in the high-tech and telecommunications industries. Most recently, Crawford served as assistant VP for partner sales with Orchestream. Prior to that he held numerous senior-level positions in sales and marketing at CrossKeys Systems, Nortel Networks Corp. and ADC Telecommunications. GDI Global Data Inc. has announced that V. James Sardo and Richard Meeusen have resigned from the company's board of directors. Both left to pursue other interests. Digital imaging company Symagery Microsystems Inc. has named Ronald Caines as president and CEO, replacing Mike Foster. Foster, who joined the company in September 2002, has moved on to head up a start-up company based in Montreal. Prior to Symagery, Foster was COO of Chrysalis-ITS. Caines was previously VP of worldwide sales at Verilink Corp., a maker of equipment designed to boost Internet access speeds. Prior to working at Verilink, Caines was GM of Intermec Technologies Corp.'s Canadian operations. KSAT Satellite Networks Inc. has made several changes to its board of directors. Steven Shao Hong Wan has resigned as a director. Phoi Kwok Eng has resigned as CFO, but will continue to sit on the board. Avi Shabtai will not have his contract renewed as president and CEO, but will remain on the board. Erez Antebi was appointed director on August 31, 2003. Aquis Communications Group Inc., a wireless messaging company, has announced some key management changes. The company's CEO Alex Stillwell has stepped down from his position to return to his consulting firm, A&K Associates LLC. Effective September 1, Brian Mobeck assumed the positions of president and CEO. Prior to this appointment, he was VP of engineering at the company.
