Bell Canada has seen some major changes at the senior level. Stephen Markey is joining the company as chief of government relations. He had been VP government relations and regulatory affairs at Air Canada and senior VP, corporate and government affairs at Canadian Airlines. The new VP public affairs at the telco is Johanne Senécal. She previously served as special policy advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office. After 34 years with Bell, Linda Gervais is retiring as VP federal government relations. Executive counsel Bernard Courtois will retire at the end of the month. He tells Network Letter that after a dozen years with the telco he is exploring other options, although he would not be more specific.
