WEBReGenesistv.com ReGenesis Extended Reality Game Developed and designed by Xenophile Media, ReGenesis Extended Reality Game is one of the most ambitious convergent concepts developed on behalf of a Canadian drama series, an emerging new online gaming genre called Extended Reality. The network of sites is a companion to the ReGenesis television series, produced by Shaftesbury Films. ReGenesis Extended Reality Game will utilize a maze of seemingly unrelated web sites, chat rooms, email dispatches, live web cam feeds, classified documents and telephone lines to contact and pull the viewer into a world of mystery and intrigue that will enhance and extend their ReGenesis television experience. At first glance the starting point, www.regenesistv.com is an official fan site where viewers can get the scoop on the series’ upcoming investigations, background information on the cast members, and stills from the show. But the site also entices the viewer to take a closer look at www.norbac.ca, the corporate web site of the lab that is at the heart of the ReGenesis television series. It seems that it exists in the real world. There are even phone numbers that lead to real voicemail and a login that will allow players to hack into the internal network of the company itself. Once inside the company intranet the audience will find the internal communications and work in progress of all the characters on the show. The writers of the television series were heavily involved in the creation of the ReGenesis Extended Reality Game, and have taken care to use it to add depth and intrigue to the various plots that unfold on television.
