Simpler Networks has appointed Harry Carr as CEO, charged with establishing a U.S. headquarters. He will also be given a seat on the board of directors. Carr takes over the CEO role from Mike Perrault, who remains president, but takes on the added responsibility of COO. Prior to joining Simpler Networks, Carr served as chair and CEO of Tellium Inc. and a company, which merged with Zhone Technologies in November 2003. “Simpler Networks is at a critical juncture, as we set our sights on the next level of development. There is no doubt that the company is facing exciting opportunities, and together with the management team and employees, we hope to build the company’s infrastructure for long-term growth and success,” Carr said in a news release. The new CEO worked at Lucent Technologies, Yurie Systems Inc. and AT&T.
