Sierra Wireless Inc. has decided to split the responsibilities of chair and CEO, announcing that the lead independent director position will be replaced by a non-executive chair position. To that end, Peter Ciceri has been named chair, taking over from David Sutcliffe, who maintains the position of CEO and adds the role of president. The company also announced that Sutcliffe, who has served as CEO for 10 years, will retire at the end of this year. He will, however, stay on with the company as a director.
