Rajiv Pancholy has stepped down as president and CEO of Mitec Telecom Inc. He joined the Montreal-based company in October 2002 and led a major restructuring of the firm that included the sale of Swedish operations. Despite the Pancholy-led reorganization, the company continued to suffer heavy financial losses. Long-time CFO Keith Findlay will take over as CEO on an interim basis. The company also announced that Stefano Bazzacchi has been appointed acting CFO. He joined Mitec in April 2005 as director of financial services. SR Telecom Inc. has announced that Pierre St-Arnaud has resigned as president and CEO. He will continue to sit on the company’s board of directors. St-Arnaud joined the company as president and COO in 2000 and took on CEO responsibilities in April 2001. Under his leadership, SR Telecom diversified its product portfolio through the acquisition of Netro Corp. and the purchase of assets from Lucent Technologies. These acquisitions now account for two-thirds of the company’s overall revenue. He also played a key role in leading growth in new markets, and streamlined the company’s manufacturing, research and development and sales processes. Chief restructuring officer William Aziz will take over as CEO on an interim basis. Olaf Krahmer has been named VP, service providers at Cisco Systems Canada. Krahmer joins the company from Siemens Canada, where he served most recently as VP carrier networks. Cisco Canada has also announced the following reorganization of its senior management team: Ross Pellizzari, formerly VP enterprise sales, central region, has been named VP, channel; Steve Simmons, formerly VP channel and commercial operations, is now VP, commercial accounts; Michel Houde, most recently VP enterprise sales, eastern region, is now VP public sector; and Gilles St. Hilaire, formerly VP enterprise sales, western region, has been appointed VP enterprise strategic accounts. Two senior journalists, James Lewis and Stefan Dubowski, have joined Decima Reports. Lewis will be the editor of Canadian NEW MEDIA and Dubowski will become managing editor of Telemanagement. Lewis joins Decima from Canadian Investment Review, where he served as associate editor and later managing editor. Dubowski comes to Decima from IT World Canada where he held a number of positions, including department editor, assistant editor and associate editor. Toronto-based Redknee, a global provider of communication software to wireless network operators, has announced the appointment of Shaun MacDonald as VP corporate development. Prior to joining Redknee, MacDonald spent seven years at Cisco Systems and three years at Openwave Systems involved in international acquisition, investment, licensing and spin-off transactions. Michael Morris has been appointed as VP of product development at Syndesis, a provider of data services automation products. Morris joins the company from Arkipelago where he oversaw the production of inventory management software for the wireline, wireless and cable industries. Prior to that, he worked at Wysdom, Triversity Corp. and IBM Global Services. Tom Eich has been named to the newly created position of indirect sales manager for GTES. He reports to Brooks Marsden, VP of sales. In this new role, Eich will be responsible for developing and managing distribution channels for the company’s SHERLOC hosted location service. Prior to joining GTES, Eich worked at a number of companies selling and marketing wireless-related professional services. Motorola has appointed Patricia Morrison as senior VP and CIO. Morrison joins the communications giant from Office Depot where she was executive VP and CIO, responsible for managing the retailer’s global information systems. As CIO for Motorola, she will manage strategic, operational and financial aspects of the company’s information technology architecture, systems, tools, processes, and infrastructure.
