Nortel Networks Corp. has named Don McKenna as VP of global manufacturing services, responsible for all aspects of the company’s production operations. He joins the company from General Electric where he led manufacturing processes, supply chain and quality assurance efforts. Jean Brazeau has been appointed VP of telecommunications regulatory affairs at Shaw Communications Inc. He will be responsible for developing a comprehensive telecom policy as it relates to government and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining Shaw, Brazeau held a number of senior positions within the telecommunications, including most recently overseeing Rogers Telecom’s strategic partnerships and regulatory affairs. Clent Richardson, chief marketing officer of Nortel Networks Corp., has decided to leave the company after 18 months on the job. His departure will be effective March 1. Mitel Networks Corp. has made two personnel changes to help further the Ottawa company’s growth strategy. Doug Michaelides has been named VP of marketing and Gilles Rousso is taking on more responsibility. Michaelides joins the company from Allstream where he transformed the "go-to-market model with a segment-driven, solutions-marketing approach" which helped drive brand awareness and market growth. He also worked at Nortel Networks Corp. for 20 years in sales and marketing. Rousso joined Mitel in 1992 and has played a key role in establishing Mitel in Latin America. He now adds Mexico and the Caribbean to his coverage area. Ignition Point Technologies Corp. has appointed Stephen Majlath CFO. In addition to be responsible for the financial aspects of the company, he will help will strategic choices and investor relations. Majlath has 15 years experience with both entrepreneurial and multi-national organizations as well as with biotechnology startups and major manufacturing companies. Kiriakos Vanikiotis has been appointed general council of TelePlus Enterprises Inc., responsible for the company’s legal and regulatory matter. He will report to TelePlus CEO and chair of the board of directors Marius Silvasan. Vanikiotis has worked at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP and Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP where he specialized in corporate/commercial law, banking and financing, and mergers and acquisitions.
