Pierre Blouin, CEO of MTS Allstream Inc., has been appointed to the company’s board of directors. The board has also approved James MacDonald and Kishore Kapoor as nomimees to the board. MacDonald is currently chair and managing partner at Enterprise Capital Management Inc., an investment management company. Kapoor was executive VP of corporate development at Loring Ward International Ltd. from November 2003 to June 2005, and was executive VP of corporate development at Assante Corporation from 1994 to November 2003. TrueContext has made some executive changes that should enable the Ottawa-based firm to get to the next level of growth. Alvaro Pombo is being replaced by Jeff Lindauer as CEO. Pombo will become president and executive chair of the board of directors. Lindauer has more than 20 years experience in the software and telecommunications industries. He was previously CEO of Spontaneous Technology, a company acquired by Intellisync. Omar Leeman has taken over as senior VP of sales and customer support. He was previously president, CEO and chair of the board of directors of Talk2 Technology Inc. Ted Gauld has joined TrueContext as VP of marketing. Previously, he held several senior-level marketing positions at Microsoft Corp. Cyril Soga has been appointed VP of engineering. Prior to joining the company, he was CTO and VP of global R&D at Etfia OSS Solutions. Kevin Weiss has been promoted to president of McAfee Inc. He was previously executive VP of worldwide sales and services. Weiss, who has been a member of the board of directors for three years, brings more than 25 years experience to the position. Prior to joining McAfee in October 2002, Weiss held senior management positions at Ariba, BindView Corp., BMC Software and IBM. Eric Brown, CFO of McAfee, has added the COO position to his responsibilities, the company also announced. Brown joined McAfee in January 2005. Decima Reports welcomes Kurt Eby as staff writer. Kurt has worked for a number of Ottawa organizations, including Decima Reports, as a freelance writer since 2004. Previously, he held the position of business writer at the Television Bureau of Canada in Toronto. Kurt graduated from the Ryerson School of Journalism in 2002. He will be contributing to all five of Decima Reports’ authoritative industry journals.
