Nortel unloads portion of wireless business to Alcatel

Nortel Networks Corp. is following through on a previously announced strategy to divest itself of product lines from which it won’t capture 20% market share. The one-time venerable wireless equipment company announced this month that it was selling its UMTS access business to Alcatel SA for US$320 million.
