Telus Québec has appointed four new VPs. Serge Leclerc has been named VP of business communications and community affairs. He was a partner at a large public relations firm and is now responsible for internal communication strategies, public relations and community investments. Christian Proulx joins the company as VP of human resources. He previously held numerous positions responsible for human resources in the fields of pharmaceuticals and the media. Gaétan Rousseau, the newly appointed regional VP of consumer solutions delivery, started at QuébecTel 27 years ago and held a number of positions including head of operations in the Côte-Nord, Lower St-Lawrence, Gaspé and central Québec regions. Raymond Saoumah has been named regional VP of engineering and operations, wireless networks. He has been with Telus since 1997 and worked on the PCS and Mike networks in Québec, the Maritimes and Eastern Ontario. Wmode has appointed Iain Gillott and Stephen Pezzola to the company’s board of directors. Gillott is founder of iGillottResearch and is recognized as an authority on the wireless and mobile industry. Pezzola brings to Wmode more than 25 years experience in mergers and acquisitions, executive and financial management in the private, IPO and public markets. Ken Miller has joined the Voice Mobility International Inc. (VMI) board of directors. Miller’s experience includes various roles with Mobile Data Solutions Inc., starting in 1995, where he was promoted to president in 1997 and to CEO from 1999 to 2001. He is also a member of the board and audit committee for Ignition Point Technologies Corp. and ResponseTek Networks Corp. VMI develops and provides carrier grade enhanced messaging solutions. Optimal Geomatics Inc. has appointed Ron Gant as director of transportation to strengthen the drive to become the premier provider of surveying, mapping, remote sensing, GIS and GPS solutions in the transportation sector. Gant’s experience stems from 16 years with Bentley Systems and Intergraph Corp. His focus will be on developing strong customer relationships and a growing market share in the North American transportation sector. Vancouver-based Optimal Geomatics specializes in the science and technology of gathering, analyzing, interpreting, distributing and using geographic information. Look Communications Inc. has named Jason Redman VP of finance and CFO. During his career, Redman has held financial executive roles in the technology industry and has developed competencies primarily in strategic planning and execution in finance, and in business acquisition and integration. He has also implemented software applications to support strategic forecasting processes. Redman replaces Paul Katz who has left the corporation to pursue other opportunities. Jim Fowles has been appointed the CA to the CFO of C-Com Satellite Systems Inc. "Jim’s CFO experience with a number of high technology companies coupled with his training as a chartered accountant with expertise in corporate governance and financial management will be an asset to C-Com," said C-Com’s president and CEO Leslie Klein in a press release. C-Com develops and deploys commercial-grade mobile satellite-based technology for the delivery of two-way high-speed Internet, VoIP and video services into vehicles.
