As part of its strategy for national expansion, Calgary-based Shift Networks Inc. has announced several key additions to its senior management team. Keith Bradley has been named VP of sales for the western region. Bradley has worked in the telecommunications industry since 1992. He joins Shift from Telus Mobility where he was most recently director of corporate sales for British Columbia. Prior to that, Bradley was instrumental in the development and direct and retail sales channels for ClearNet’s PCS and Mike products. Rick Christiaanse will assume the role of VP, independent channel. Christiaanse joined Shift in October 2005 as the national director of channel marketing. His experience in independent channel development stems from roles at Rogers, ClearNet and Telus. Prior to joining Shift he was most recently the director of sales and marketing for Telus International in Korea. Daniel Gibbons has been appointed VP of marketing communications, joining the company from consulting firm SingleView Ltd. Gibbons previously founded and sold an email and Internet marketing company which provided services to enterprises across North America. David Kozicz has been named VP of client services. Kozicz also joins Shift from Telus, where he was director of client services and project management, responsible for provisioning and customer care in BC’s enterprise segment. Before that, he was director of global technology sourcing and alliance partnerships with CIBC, and also spent five years consulting to Fortune 500 companies throughout North America with A.T. Kearney. Wes Semeniuk has been appointed Shift’s VP of network operations, moving from Telus where he was responsible for product management following his tenure as principal of Telus Mobility’s professional services group. Semeniuk has also held the positions of CTO at Terago Networks and the director of engineering at ClearNet. Fred Sorkin and Barry Litwin, chairman and CEO, respectively, of Hummingbird Ltd. have left the company following the completed acquisition of Hummingbird by Open Text Corp. "Fred and Barry have built a great company in Hummingbird and have contributed much to the ECM market," said John Shackleton, president and CEO of Open Text, in a news release. "They have played a key role in sharing their insights as we’ve planned the integration of our companies." Marie-Annick Riel has been named president of C-Chip Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manaris Corp. Riel was most recently VP of sales and marketing at Avensys, another Manaris subsidiary. Prior to that she spent 15 years in the telecommunications and telemetry industries where she occupied executive positions in marketing, business development and sales at Proxima, Simpler Networks and New IT Technologies. Riel is replacing Claude Arbour who has resigned to join iMetrik, C-Chip’s business and research and development partner. McAfee Inc. has named Dale Fuller as interim CEO and president following the retirement of George Samenuk as the company’s chairman and CEO, and the termination of Kevin Weiss as McAfee’s president. Fuller joined McAfee in January 2006 after serving as president and CEO of Borland Software Corp. for more than six years. He has also served as CEO of WhoWhere Inc., GM and VP of Apple Computer’s Powerbook division, and VP and GM of NEC’s portable computer division. Charles Robel has also been appointed non-executive chairman of the board. Robel joined McAfee’s board in June 2006 and served as a managing member and COO at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners from 2000 to 2005. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, from which he retired as partner in 2000. Along with changing its name to VoIP-Pal.Com Inc., VoIPMDU.Com has also appointed Jerry Philip its director of marketing. Philip is the former VP and co-founder of Points.com. VoIP-Pal.Com is a broadband VoIP telecom company offering local and long distance VoIP services to consumers.
