Are Cisco, Microsoft and Nortel on a collision course?

An 800-pound gorilla landed with a thud in the middle of the emerging unified communications market this summer. With two blockbuster announcements, Microsoft Corp. put the industry on notice that it will demand a share of the expected booty from a market that has been dominated until now by network and legacy voice system providers. Not that it was a huge surprise: Microsoft’s intentions have been known for some time.
