Wi-LAN expands patent portfolio into wireline broadband space

Wi-LAN Inc. has secured $49.2 million in revenue – a combination of cash and intellectual property – from Nokia Corp. as part of a deal that saw the cell phone giant license Wi-LAN’s entire patent portfolio. Wi-LAN received $15.2 million in cash and 93 patents valued at $34 million.
