Redline launches new WiMAX productsToronto-based Redline Communications introduced WiMAX products operating in the 3.3 GHz to 3.5 GHz range at ITU World 2006 event in Hong Kong last week. The products will allow operators across the Asia-Pacific region to deliver broadband wireless services to customers using Redline equipment. Wireless Edge scores win with CloudmarkCalgary-based Wireless Edge has inked an OEM agreement to integrate Cloudmark’s messaging security technology into its converged network security solutions. Work on integrating the two products is already underway and the first enhanced offering from the two companies is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2007. Cellular voice to prevail IN third worldA new report from Analysys suggests that cellular voice services will capture the limited disposable income in developing countries, which potentially undermines the business case for WiMAX in the region. "The prospects for WiMAX in developing countries will be severely limited by a lack of PCs, low disposable incomes and the growing strength of cellular services," report co-author Mark Heath said in a news release.
