Think the contact centre market is dying? The communication-info trackers at TelecomWeb suggest you should think again. According to the company’s report on contact-centre equipment shipments for the first half of 2006, worldwide revenues hit US$1.45 billion and revenues in North America alone are projected to reach US$1.3 billion for the whole year – already ahead of Frost & Sullivan’s estimate that revenues in the US and Canada would reach US$1.25 billion by 2011, TelecomWeb said in a press release. The firm also said Avaya Inc. led the sector, followed by Nortel Networks and Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories Inc. in a tie.
