Proudly Canadian fashionistas take note: Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc., working with Insight Production Company Ltd. and FremantleMedia Enterprises, has acquired the format rights for a Canadianized version of Project Runway. In the hit reality series, fashion design hopefuls compete head-to-head for the approval of a celebrity judging panel and recognition as the next "it" designer. "Canada’s fashion industry rocks! We have every confidence that Project Runway Canada will create some well-deserved heat around the Canadian fashion industry," said Insight Production company president John Brunton in a release.
