Revenues double in DHX’s Q2
Brief | March 1, 2007
DHX Media Ltd. recently announced second-quarter results for its 2007 fiscal year, with an impressive 116% year-over-year jump during the three-month period. Other key performance metrics at the Halifax-based production company saw triple-digit gains as well, including a 299% jump in delivery of proprietary TV programming, to 46 half-hours from 14 half-hours in the same quarter in DHX’s 2006 fiscal year. The firm’s profitability, meanwhile, posted a healthy 158% gain year-over-year – from a loss of $402,000 in Q2 2006 to $234,000 in the black during the latest quarter – and its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) similarly soared 744% to hit $951,000 from $113,000 a year ago. And, developments during the quarter – which ended December 31, 2006 – should help drive more growth in the future: DHX signed worldwide toy, game and book licensing deals for its award-winning Franny’s Feet franchise that will provide both minimum payments and royalties in 2008.
