Marblemedia, Corus back Ryerson award

Brief | March 9, 2007

Graduate students in Ryerson University’s new Masters of Arts in Media Production program have something to smile about – the possibility of winning a $20,000 award. Thanks to the joint efforts of Toronto-based producer marblemedia and Corus Entertainment Inc., Ryerson has established the Innovative Storytellers Award, an educational initiative intended for a student whose thesis explores how content creators can best use new technologies to connect with audiences. "The overall intent of this award is to encourage students to use their studies as an opportunity to envision what the future might hold for Canada’s entertainment industry," said marblemedia partner Mark Bishop. The $20,000 sum will be contributed over a five-year period. The first award is scheduled to be given this September.
