Yahoo reaches out to Mamma.com

Brief | March 9, 2007

Montreal search firm Mamma.com has expanded its existing relationship with the Canadian arm of Web giant Yahoo Inc. to include location-specific paid links. Yahoo Canada will use Mamma.com’s intelligent geo-targeting technology to direct search engine traffic to the Yahoo Canada site, through a partnership with the latter’s Yahoo Search Marketing unit. "According to [Comscore] Media Metrix’s recently released December audit, we have tripled our Canadian user base over the last 12 months," said Mamma.com executive VP of business development Patrick Hopf. "Our strategy is to expand our efforts into further emerging pay-per-click markets, and harness our search targeting technology to grow our distribution business."
