Bell Aliant sends offer to Amtelecom

Bell Aliant Regional Communications has made its offer for Ontario regional telephone company Amtelecom at a price of $13 per unit. The offer is open until April 5 and has certain conditions applied to its acceptance, including the deposit of two thirds of Amtelecom’s units, receipt of all regulatory approvals, waiver of the Amtelecom unitholder’s rights plan. On March 5, Amtelecom urged its unitholders not to act on the offer for the time being.
