Reach of Sandvine’s PTS 14000 spreading globally

Brief | March 19, 2007

Sandvine Inc. announced on March 5 that it will supply its PTS 14000 platform as well as complementary software and services to a tier-one US broadband provider with more than five million residential high-speed Internet subscribers. This means that the Waterloo ON-based company now serves seven of the top 20 broadband providers in America. "We’re very excited for yet another major customer win," said Sandvine’s president and CEO Dave Caputo. That same day, the company also announced that some of the world’s major carriers would cluster its PTS 14000 platform to support up to 80 Gbps of traffic. Currently, the PTS 14000 is the only platform that can independently handle 10 Gbps Ethernet traffic. "The growing interest in our PTS 14000 reflects the urgent need among carriers for a proven 10-Gigabit Ethernet solution that can scale to support their busiest aggregation points," said CTO Marc Morin.
