Shell digs into unified communications

Telecommunications equipment vendors must have been salivating when Royal Dutch Shell plc invited them to showcase their gear last year. Here was a chance to win a global unified communications contract with one of the world's largest oil, gas, petrochemical and biofuel operations. Big customers mean big profits. But inasmuch as the vendors were eager, they were probably also apprehensive. Shell had high hopes for its communication infrastructure.
