BITE TV gets Emmy nod, signs multiple partnerships
Brief | March 27, 2007
Mississauga, ON-based interactive specialty channel BiteTV was recently nominated for an International Emmy in the interactive channel category. If BiteTV , which has only been on the air for 23 months, were to win the award, it would be the first Canadian company to win an Emmy in that category. “While we are still a very young company, it’s great to be internationally recognized,” said BiteTV's president and CEO, Jeffrey Elliott. He adds that this year has been “stellar” for the new company, which also announced a distribution deal with Joost recently. Another agreement was also finalized recently with Amp’d Mobile to provide signature short-form content offerings to the wireless network supplier. “These agreements are significant steps forward, giving BiteTV a foot-hold in the international market,” adds Elliott.
