Mitel creates SIP Microsoft link

Ottawa-based Mitel Networks Corp. has developed direct SIP connection capabiltities between its 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) – an IP-PBX – and Microsoft Corp.'s Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging. This eliminates the need for a separate SIP gateway to negotiate between the two systems, which spells deeper unified messaging integration: voice, email and faxes should travel seamlessly between the communication application and the message store, for instance.
