Retailer calls for greener home offices

Briefs | 04/10/2007 1:36 pm EDT

In advance of Telemanagement's report on environmentally friendly communication technology practices, Staples Business Depot says 47% of Canadian home offices contain at least one broken or out-of-date cellphone needing disposal. As well, 47% have dead batteries, 45% have old battery chargers and 37% have used ink cartridges. The retailer urges people to drop such items off at any of its 273 locations for recycling. Later this month Telemanagement will release its report on green communication technology practices for businesses, including an assessment of the role that home offices play in the corporate infrastructure.
