Nortel taps Townley for procurement position

Jeff Townley is heading to China as Nortel Networks Corp. newly appointed chief procurement officer, where he will manage all of Nortel's supplier relationships and all of the company's purchases. Townley has 24 years of experience at Nortel, having served in various capacities of increasing responsibility including senior management positions across operations. Most recently he was leader of the business transformation strategic procurement team. Townley replaces John Haydon, who was recently named VP and general manager of Network Partner Solutions for Global Services.
