SiGe taps Khan as chief executive

Sohail Khan has been named SiGe Semiconductor's new president and CEO, charged with expanding the company's position as a leading supplier of RF front-end solutions and GPS receivers to the consumer electronic markets. SiGe, which has operations in Ottawa, makes microchips that can be found in laptops, PDAs, handheld game devices, cell phones and personal video players. Kahn has more than 25 years experience in the communications and semiconductor industry and joins SiGe from Bessemer Venture Partners. There, he served as an entrepreneur in residence and operating partner, responsible for evaluating communications deals and providing assistance to portfolio companies.
