Amtelecom board accepts EastLink offer

Amtelecom Income Fund's board of trustees has unanimously recommended to unitholders that they should accept the takeover offer from Bragg Communications Inc., the operator of EastLink. Bragg offered to buy Amtelecom for $14.25 per unit for a total of more than $100 million. The offer expires May 23. Bragg Communications stepped in after Bell Aliant Regional Communications offered to purchase Amtelecom for $13 per unit.
