Avaya unwraps conferencing and contact centre systems for SMBs

Not to be outdone in the race to impress small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), Avaya Inc. has unveiled Meeting Exchange Express, and Customer Interaction Express. The first is audio conferencing software that links into PC clients from Adobe Systems Inc., IBM Corp. and Microsoft Corp. Avaya figures companies that spend $2,500 or more per month on outsourced conferencing would see a return on investment in 10 months with this product. Customer Interaction Express is contact centre software that provides, voice, email, fax and text messaging for up to 150 agents at multiple sites. Avaya's rivals Cisco Systems Inc. and Nortel Networks have also announced SMB-friendly equipment recently.
