US broadcasters form mobile video group

Nine of the largest broadcasters in the United States have formed the Open Mobile Video Coalition. The move is move designed to promote a number of objectives including the development of technical standards and objectives for broadcasters, equipment makers, service providers, content developers and consumers; drive regulatory support; and promote consumer adoption of mobile digital broadcast television. Belo Corp., Fox Television Stations, Gannett Broadcasting, Gray Television, ION Media Networks, the NBC and Telemundo Stations, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Tribune Broadcasting spearheaded the coalition's formation.
