CRTC lays out ground rules for dealing with forbearance applications

In Telecom Circular 2007-13, the CRTC has set the timelines for handling local service forbearance applications. Prior to filing a forbearance applications, the applicant must submit a copy of its application on participating parties – all competitive local exchange carriers and other known telecom service providers in the relevant market. Participating parties have 20 days from the date of the application to file comments. The ILEC than has 25 days to respond to these comments.
