Nortel secures new head for Caribbean and Latin America

Nortel Networks Corp. has appointed Alvio Barrios as president of the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region effective June 1, replacing Martha Bejar, who has accepted an opportunity with another company. Reporting directly to president and CEO Mike Zafirovski, Barrios will be based out of the company's office and will be responsible for sales, operations and marketing for the region. Barrios has been with the company for more than 10 years, most recently serving as regional sales VP for the CALA region.
